The Mission of The Friday Reporter

I launched the Friday Reporter podcast to provide a unique platform for engaging conversations with journalists, communications experts and content creators.

My goal was to offer listeners a behind-the-scenes look at the news-making process, highlight the people shaping public discourse, and foster a greater understanding of the relationships between reporters, communicators, and their audiences. By bringing my background and experience into these conversations, I aimed to bridge the gap between media and public affairs in an accessible, insightful, and entertaining way.

More recently, with the addition of a vertical focused on lobbyists, I’ve expanded the podcast’s mission to explore another vital perspective in the world of advocacy and influence, further enriching your listeners’ understanding of public affairs.

Lisa Camooso Miller has been a notable communications leader for over twenty years in local, state and federal government posts, political campaigns and committees, as well as advocacy organizations. She regularly provides commentary on radio and television and is the host and producer of The Friday Reporter podcast.

Miller is the founder of Friday Reporter Public Affairs, and host of the Friday Reporter Podcast.

She was previously deputy communications director for the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and the U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives.  She also served as the head of communications for the Republican National Committee in 2007.

Prior to her time in Washington, D.C., Miller served under two New Jersey governors, where she participated in the recovery and rebuilding efforts following the attacks of September 11th.

Miller holds an M.A. in corporate and public communications from Monmouth University and a B.A. in communications from The College of New Jersey.
